The transformation puts community and farming at the heart of Greenmeadow Community Farm.

The site has been completely renovated, securing the buildings, improving accessibility, new visitor journeys, play areas and improved facilities for the animals. We have even installed a state-of-the-art ground source heat pump. The works protect the farm for the next generation of visitors and the community.

What are we working on?

All-weather facilities

Greenmeadow Community Farm will be a great day out, whatever the weather. The new farm-themed playbarn gives you plenty of space to let the kids play away from the elements.

Cafe and gift shop

Cafe facilities on site have had a complete revamp, with a new covered cafe area in a wonderful oak frame extension at the back of the farmhouse with 90 seats, and outdoor seating. It will be open to the general public, with no need to buy farm tickets, making it the perfect place to pop in for a cuppa.

Dog friendly

Dogs are part of the family, and there’s no need to leave them at home when you spend the day at Greenmeadow! The cafe and site will be dog friendly to well-behaved dogs on leads, with a couple of sensible exceptions, like Cuddle Corner in the Animal Barn.

Event space

A beautiful and flexible new event space in the Haybarn is perfect for community events, private hire and weddings. There will also be a fantastic programme of Greenmeadow events taking place throughout the year.

Accessibility

We’re making it easier for more people to access more of Greenmeadow Community Farm. Paths have been regraded and are being resurfaced, we’ve added accessible toilets and looked to make more of the on-site facilities accessible to those with additional needs.

Exploring the Landscape - Outdoor adventure play

New paths, trails and journeys in nature are being developed to give visitors more places to explore and wander on the farm. There’s also new outdoor play areas for the kids to adventure.

Sustainability

Greenmeadow Community Farm is one of the first visitor attractions in Wales to be fitted with a ground source heat pump. This innovation means most of the site’s energy needs will be supplied through the pump, significantly improving the sustainability of the site.
